New Beginnings

1 min read
So, I'm sure anyone that actually follows me knows I have been horrible about updating DA over the past few years.  I recently added a few things from my Spring Semester Classes.  I will be working on some personal pieces soon and doing a total redo of my Deviant soon, remove some older work that just doesn't need to be up anymore, and try my hardest to continue to update regularly.

I have recently updated my Deviant ID and wanted to give full credit to the lovely and talented Karen Bechdel! Her photography business K Pro Photography is starting up rather nicely and hopefully she can get her own space soon to host her equipment and wonderful talent.  If you would like to learn more about Karen or see more of her work (or purchase any you are total in love with) you can find her at:

www.kpro.smugmug.com

She is currently based out of Staunton, VA.

Well hopefully I will be on here a little more often and posting tons more work!

well obviously its been a while since i updated.  Have been super busy working full time and going to school part time. Currently undertaking the com design degree at my local community college.  Most posts will be things that are assignments for class.  Hopefully I will be updating more regularly.

well we're all moved in and the old place is having its move out inspection tomorrow....  New job seems to be going well, though I'm still in training for the next two weeks.  Working on unpacking all my things and trying to get my scanner up and running so I can get the Finished! Stag piece up.

hmm... and now it is dinner and movie time.... I'll update more later this week!

Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

So today is my big packing day before we move tomorrow and I fell as fill all this packing is like slaying the Jabberwock!

I should have the finished Stag drawing up next week and I'm working on a commissioned Disney piece for a friends tattoo.  Other things in the works include a Celtic Dragon for the label of some locally made Mead and another tattoo design for some Vikings in the area!   All this plus starting a new job... wow how this summer is really shaping up!

I've realized that since I left college I have always said I would be back and post more and do more on deviant but... well.... life happened.  I know that isn't a good enough excuse and well as much as I'd like to just leave it at that I can't.

I got lazy.

Well... I'm hoping that this time I won't be so lazy, but I will be quite busy in the next few months what with moving and all.  I'm going to try to push myself to post 'something' each week and get back into my artwork...

In November I started doing some Celtic Knot pieces to hang on the walls of our apartment and though most of them have been using others drawings as a basis for the piece I'm starting to branch out and do my own thing. Occasionally I'm sure I need to pull from others work for basic forms and traditional knots but I really want to start creating my own pieces with Celtic influence.  I'm asking the gods and goddesses to help me in this en-devour and hoping the end products come out the way I want them to.   Not to worry I will give credit where credit is due so if something I draw looks similar to something someone else has done I will credit them if I did use there work to start from.

Other than that I'm not sure what to put in this post as my extended absence probably means I've lost a lot of followers.  I know certain friends are always looking to see if I've posted anything new but other than that I'm just not sure who still waits for me on dA.

So until next time:

I leave you with a kitty
